Solo Premiere: How the Mysterious Star Wars Spinoff Played to Its First Audience

However, while it would nearly certainly be a master stroke to see Kit take a swipe at playing a character in the Star War universe - especially a Jedi - what seems to be a huge oversight on the interviewer's part is that Luke actually has an origin story. But arguably none has been as harrowing as Solo: A Star Wars Story, which opens May 25.

A lot has been said about the behind the scenes drama on Solo: A Star Wars Story.

We must admit. We were very sceptical of this one.

The informative talk was punctuated by the reveal of two new custom-designed model cars inspired by the friendship between Han Solo and Chewbacca in the movie.

All in all, critics have described the Star Wars spin-off film as a thrilling intergalactic adventure movie full of top-notch action. Solo: A Star Wars Story is expected to gross around $170 million in the opening holiday weekend. Ron Howard finished the film after original directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller were fired.

Hit PLAY to try out something brand new.

Solo, which includes a cast of Alden Ehrenreich and Donald Glover, tells Han Solo's origin story and how he becomes the anti-hero that fans grew to know and love in the prequel movies.

Clarke understandably has certain allegiances to the King in the North, but couldn't be more excited to be a part of the franchise she's been watching since she was a kid.

The keepers of the Star Wars cinematic franchise have had a couple of white-knuckle landings into theatres since Disney bought Lucasfilm and rebooted George Lucas' creation. Mark Hamill and Billy Dee Williams were both present at the red carpet premiere, and both showered the film with praise. Might Solo accomplish the truly impossible and deliver a larger fashion moment for capes?

"But who's going to read this and take me seriously?"

While the premiere brought us lovely pictures of handsome stars, the most important thing to come from the night was the first impressions of Solo.
