Her travels as First Lady seem to have also influenced her White House focus. "I'm not going to get ahead of her announcement".

Melania Trump will announce her eagerly awaited formal platform on Monday during a Rose Garden event, almost 16 months into her tenure as US First Lady, the media reported.

The first lady will "highlight the importance of using social media and the internet in positive ways", her office said, pointing to a study that claims children who spend more time on new media are more likely to report mental health issues than those who spend time on other activities.

Melania Trump has launched an awareness campaign called "BE BEST" that aims to promote healthy development in children. Some thing unique though: "She's not narrowed down her platform to just a single topic since has been done previously", Grisham said.

The part of 1st lady, when it comes of giving birth to a formal, branded stage, is marginally undefined.

For Trump, who didn't go for the WhiteHouse fulltime until June of the last calendar year, settling on an definitive initiative has taken a relatively longer amount of time compared with a of her recent predecessors. "The First Lady lives here in the White House", Sanders said in response, slamming it as "tabloid gossip".

Trump's agenda for children has already included visits to children's hospitals and schools and an invitation to 12 children for a White House listening session.

The first lady said social media can both "positively and negatively" affect children. "Melania, your care and compassion for our nation's children - and I have to say this and I say it to you all the time - inspires us all".

"I'm aware we're skeptical about me talking that topic", said Trump.

"It remains our generation's moral imperative to take responsibility and help our children manage the many issues they are facing today, including encouraging positive social, emotional, and physical habits", the first lady said. "I have been criticized for my commitment to tackling this issue and I know that will continue".
