The U.S. president hopes that nations do not lobby against his country's joint 2026 World Cup bid with Mexico and CanadaMore
As well as Morocco, the United States, Mexico and Canada are making a joint bid to host the 2026 tournament, which will feature 48 teams.
Upon receiving Nigeria's president Muhammadu Buhari on a diplomatic visit, Trump pulled the World Cup card, calling on "countries in the continent" to support America's World Cup bid.
"We can only refer to the FIFA Regulations for the selection of the venue for the final competition of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and in particular to the Bid Rules of Conduct incorporated therein", FIFA said.

"Why should we be supporting these countries when they don't support us (including at the United Nations)" Trump asked in his tweet, suggesting that foreign policy under Trump is essentially-perhaps only-guided by a tit-for-tat philosophy.

Last week Trump issued a veiled threat against nations that may align in voting blocs against the North American bid.

The 2018 tournament is in Russian Federation, while Qatar will host the event four years later.
Samoura and Diouf both publicly rejected the allegation saying they were not family members. "We didn't discuss it, because the president knows me, and he knows where I'm coming from and I appreciate that".
