Meek Mill expected to attend 76ers game after prison release

In a statement to USA Today, Tacopina said, "We are thrilled that the Pennsylvania Supreme Court has directed Judge Brinkley to immediately issue an order releasing Meek on bail...as we have said all along, Meek was unjustly convicted and should not have spent a single day in jail".

Additional updates on Meek Mill's case will be provided in the months to come, particularly based on how it is ruled and whether or not it is ruled by Judge Genece Brinkley.

On Nov. 7, 2017, Judge Brinkley said that Meek had repeatedly "thumbed his nose" at the court.

Meek Mill said his immediate plans are to "work closely with my legal team to overturn this unwarranted conviction" and resume his music career.

On Tuesday, fellow Philadelphian and comedian Kevin Hart was at the jail to visit him, CBS Philadelphia reports. And I'm not talking about public officials, I'm talking about the men that are depending on me and are going through the same thing I'm going through'.

The artist has been busy since, too - he was seen boarding the helicopter after with Philadelphia 76ers co-owner and close pal, Michael Rubin.

Mill attended the Sixers' series-clinching 104-91 win over the Miami Heat hours after his release from prison earlier Tuesday.

"The frustration for me is, why is he still there? It's a lot light shedded on my situation". "And also, a lot of people that are incarcerated now that are doing unnecessary time".

"When you know that you're innocent, it's tough to sit through something that you know that you didn't do", Hart said. He pointed out that a "random misstep" could bring consequences greater than the crime.

"Although the High Court's action should be applauded, 296,000 people are still on probation and parole in Pennsylvania-almost the population of Pittsburgh", Schiraldi, a former probation commissioner in New York City who now co-directs the Columbia University Justice Lab.

"Probation and parole were created to give people second chances and a hand up to lead productive lives in the community, not to serve as trip wires to reincarceration for violations as minor as missing an appointment with a parole officer". But Meek Mill keeps fighting.

The 30-year-old was due to serve between two and four years but a court granted him bail due to the "credibility" concerns of a witness.
