"Next summer fans around the world will be treated to compelling and competitive cricket as the best teams in the world go head to head in this round-robin format for the right to be crowned world champions", said ICC chief executive David Richardson, like Elworthy a former South Africa global.

Global rankings will also be introduced from November for women's teams and May 2019 for men. The focus will be on using T20 cricket to create more competitive teams.

The ICC is of the opinion that the current system of levying fines was not proving to be a deterrent.

Currently, as per ICC's rule books, ball tampering is a level two offence.

"We want penalties in place that are a proper deterrent". Whilst David White, CEO of New Zealand Cricket and John Stephenson, MCC both had their terms on the Men's Cricket Committee.

"While this has been tremendous in helping us grow and attract fans, especially younger and female fans, there are occasions when domestic leagues, because they are multiplying and are being played all over the globe, are competing for time in the schedule with the worldwide bilateral cricket", Richardson told reporters after the week-long of ICC meetings here.

The ICCs cricket committee is chaired by Kumble with the assistance of Allan Border, Shaun Pollock and Courtney Walsh as it will be bolstered by the addition of Richie Richardson. It was hard. "And don't forget a 13-team ODI league is a huge step in making sure the 50 over format has much more context going forward", the former Proteas keeper said.

England's one-day captain Eoin Morgan says their performance this summer will determine whether they go into the 2019 ICC World Cup as favourites.

"We are particularly pleased with the unanimous agreement to award all T20 bilateral games worldwide status and the move to create a global ranking system for T20Is". "There are occasions where they (leagues) are competing with global bilateral series. We need to look at our regulations to see how we can allow that to happen", he said. We are committed to growing the game and T20 is the vehicle through which we'll do this and removing restrictions and having all Members ranked is a positive step forward. "I'm not convinced that it would as easy to implement as it is in other sports".
