Her attorney, Karen Truszkowski, told Outside the Lines that her client has not reported the incident to police, but, "I can not say that she's not ever going to report it". The woman's lawyer did not immediately respond to a BuzzFeed News request for comment.

The same institution where disgraced Dr.

Former MSU President Lou Anna Simon resigned after it emerged that Nassar, who also worked for the university, was accused of abusing more than 250 girls and women.

MSU is at the center of the Larry Nasar case for not properly handling cases of assault.

The lawsuit states that the woman met the three basketball players at a bar in East Lansing on April 12, 2015 ― one week after Michigan State lost to Duke in the Final Four.

According to the suit, one player offered to buy the freshman a drink.

Although the former men's basketball players who allegedly committed the rape did not live in Brody, the alleged victim would often see one or all of them at the Brody Dining Hall, which would cause panic and flashbacks to that night, along with fear every day she would see the three players. She was crying and could not speak and did not consent to the activity, according to the lawsuit.

Two of the players drove her to an off-campus apartment, where she said she expected to find her roommate as well.

"This is a Big 10 school so you know there are a lot of prospects here, a lot of people looking to go into the draft", said MSU student Sheridan Perry.

She also felt "discombobulated" and "she thought she might have been drugged".

When the first player stopped raping the woman, the player who bought her a drink and a third player walked into the bedroom and held her down, taking turns raping her, according to the lawsuit. The young woman blacked out and woke up on a couch in the apartment hours later. "Now we have to wait to see what MSU's response is going to be".

From the Detroit Free Press report on this story, according to MSU's policy on relationship violence and sexual misconduct, counselors generally are not permitted to report allegations of rape or relationship violence to the Title IX office or police.

"When plaintiff disclosed to the counselor that the three attackers were notable MSU athletes on the basketball team, the counselor suddenly announced to the plaintiff that she needed another person in the room with her and the plaintiff. The counselor's demeanor completely changed", the lawsuit reads in part.

The staff, the lawsuit said, "made it clear to plaintiff that if she chose to notify the police, she faced an uphill battle that would create anxiety and unwanted media attention and publicity as had happened with many other female students who were sexually assaulted by well-known athletes".

A report released Thursday by the Michigan House of Representatives says the university fostered a culture that focused more on protecting the school than Nassar's survivors. She accepted. He introduced her to teammates.

Jane Doe's attorney, Karen Truszkowski, said her client never reported the assault to police but she did report it to a counselor on April 20, 2015 at the Michigan State University Counseling Center. Michigan State had no comment when ESPN's Outside the Lines reached out on Monday.

The woman was told that "if you pursue this, you are going to be swimming with some really big fish", the complaint states, adding that the staffers did not advise her to seek STD or pregnancy testing and did not inform her of her option to report the incident to the school's Title IX office.
