Despite a memorable trolling campaign by Cena, The Deadman never showed up, not even in vague metaphor and we were left to our imaginations in the final days before WrestleMania.

John Cena called out The Undertaker for weeks, and at WrestleMania 34, Cena got exactly what he wanted.

John Cena really wants The Undertaker to do something and it looks like he might have received his wish. When he exhausted all of his potential avenues for a match at WrestleMania 34, he said he'd be in the crowd at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome as a fan. John Cena spent the kickoff show watching WrestleMania with the fans at ringside, just as he promised he would if The Undertaker didn't show up.

But it now appears fans will finally be treated to Cena facing Undertaker in a dream match on the biggest stage. This was the first singles match between the two wrestlers since October 2006.

However the Saturday before the April 8th mega show, The Undertaker was spotted in New Orleans.

Cena could not get any momentum early on, and was chokeslammed and Tombstoned by Undertaker, who pinned him in less than five minutes.

WWE did their best to keep us on our toes, but when Cena was yanked from the stands an ran backstage, we knew the fix was in.

It's possible that John Cena could seek his own revenge any time between now and WrestleMania 35.

The Undertaker last wrestled at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando. A frustrated Cena was about to leave when the lights went off. He drifted back into the darkness, probably for the last time.
