John Krasinski's Kids Made Him Want To Direct New Film

How having children has completely changed Emily Blunt
"I hit this guy, he's about my age, he looked like he was about to get a little surly with me", Krasinski recalled for Fallon. "I would love that", Krasinski said. All the agent had to say about that was, "You?!". Actress Emily Blunt said having kids completely changed her as a person. The flick was filmed in England, and he "went to visit her all the time". "To let someone rip like that, and then they have the confidence to say, 'What do you think we should do differently on the next take?'You're like, 'Is there a next take?"
According to Krasinski, after the agent made sure he'd heard him correctly, that Blunt had actually married him, the agent furiously stamped him through and told him to "just go".
The couple did eventually go on to talk work - most recently, the pair even worked together on Krasinski's directorial debut, A Quiet Place, which hits theaters April 6. "We tried to bring what we want for our children into this film".
So whose suit would you like to see Krasinski fill? "I very much understand both sides". To be honest, when I signed "I loveyou" to her in the movie, it was because of her. "Within a day or two watching these performances and watching my wife was incredible, but watching those unbelievable kids and they're giving these looks which were so visceral so emotional, I said this might actually work".
Noah Jupe, who plays the family's young son in A Quiet Place, was easily able to summarize what it was like working with John and Emily. For them, being together and being just two regular people is the most important thing. "It's a once in a lifetime experience". "You just don't know, you know?"
"We're going to become raging alcoholics", Blunt laughed.
