Sarah Jessica Parker endorsed her former co-star Cynthia Nixon in her bid for governor

A message approved by Sarah Jessica Parker herself: SJP has taken to Instagram to officially endorse Cynthia Nixon for governor.

"Cynthia has been my friend and colleague since we were little girls", the statement said. "I look forward to talking to her about her NY state gubernatorial bid", Parker said through her spokesperson. "I know that she would be an excellent Governor!" she gushed. Many of Nixon's "SATC" co-stars - like Kristin Davis, who played Charlotte on the show - were quick to throw support in Miranda's direction.

She's got a point: While Nixon has been fairly active as an advocate for public education and lobbied for marriage equality (and she hits all the progressive marks when it comes to reproductive rights, criminal justice reform, immigration, etc.), if we've learned anything in the past year, being famous on television does not qualify one to hold public office.

So the far-more-enthusiastic Thursday Instagram puts her in the same camp as Davis, who immediately after Nixon announced her run for the Empire State's Democratic nomination, publicly backed her former co-star.

Parker, who played Carrie Bradshaw alongside Nixon as Miranda Hobbs, has yet to make a public endorsement of her friend and colleague. Parker had failed to talk about Nixon's campaign after she announced she was running.

Up until this point, Parker had seemed lukewarm at best on Nixon's run.

She added, "We are sick of politicians who care more about headlines and power than they do about us". Andrew Cuomo. The actress has indicated that her decision to run was spurred by Donald Trump's election as president.

She then shared a link to donate to Nixon's campaign. She's attacked Cuomo for being a centrist and too much of an insider. "On health care, ending massive incarceration, fixing our broken subway". "Now she wants an unqualified lesbian to be the governor of New York", Quinn said.
