Richard Sherman to leave the Seattle Seahawks signs with the San Francisco 49ers

As the new tax law in the United States, along with its ramifications for professional sports teams and athletes, continues to be revealed, San Francisco 49ers defensive back Richard Sherman may become a trendsetter.

No one knows for sure how healthy Sherman can come back from last November's right Achilles tear, plus a procedure earlier this year to remove bone spurs from his left ankle. He is getting married at the end of the month: his fiancée's family is in Seattle and his family is in Los Angeles.

The 49ers are IN the NFC West along with the Seahawks.... "I'd love to get to play in that stadium again in different colors. I really appreciated that because it showed their commitment, their excitement".

Sherman is mad, but he's also smart. His base salary in 2018 is $2 million.

Because Shead played in only the final two games, the National Football League had recently determined that Shead's 2017 contract could "toll" and he would have to play in 2018 for Seattle on the same deal.

"I'm vengeful in that way", he said.

Last season, the 49ers' pass defence ranked 24th in the league in yards allowed per attempt with 7.2, 22nd in yards allowed per game with 235 and 24th in passer rating allowed with 93.9. "The way he played down the stretch was inspiring, it was incredible", Sherman said. The second is the clincher; he later says he warned the 49ers sideline, "If you throw it my way, it will end the game". You're winning. We weren't thinking anything else honestly. Honestly we were just enjoying the moment. "We played pretty well that game. But people can take it any way they want to". Sherman represented himself in contract negotiations.

Sherman then flew to the Bay Area, where he had dinner with Shanahan on Friday night and met with defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, a former assistant in Seattle. We sat there and haggled for about five, five-and-a-half hours. Schneider declined but told him it was a solid deal, although he might want to tinker with the roster bonuses. That's part of the rules of disengagement, and you better believe that Sherman is going to be keeping score to see who comes out ahead. "It's cool that both sides took some risks". "And we came to agreement". Which means that the cornerback, who turns 30 on March 30 and is coming off Achilles' surgery, will be extra-motivated twice a year when the two teams meet and by the fact that his three-year contract with the Niners is laden with incentives.

Well, why? Because they're incentivized by players using agents for this thing. And the 49ers can get out of the deal before April 1, 2019, even if Sherman makes the Pro-Bowl guaranteeing his base salary for that season.
