Google Pay's big global rollout begins

Google adds screenshot-editing tools to its Android app

The Google app is now rolling out a built-in screenshot editor with beta version 7.21, starting last Friday, which will give users better sharing and editing tools, as spotted by 9to5Google.

Google has been on a mission to bring all its payment tools under the Google Pay brand, and today that includes Android Pay.

Android Pay fans can rest assured as they will get all of their bank's perks and protections with an additional layer of security because Google Pay doesn't share the actual card number when paying in stores. Google objective is that users have a consistent checkout experience using the cards saved in Google Account. It also makes it a lot easier to access all of your loyalty cards and view recent transactions. That means that users who bank with Bank of America in the US or a Google partner like Mbank in Poland, you can set up Google Pay right from your bank's app without having to even install Google Pay.

Want to accept Google Pay for your app, site or business?

It's quite obvious that this latest Google app feature is still on infancy stage, indicating that there will be improvements to come in future versions. Google Pay combines features from both, including the ability to pay at checkout counters with a smartphone, and even the option to scan into transit systems in cities such as Kiev, London and Portland, initially. Payment transfers will be added to the Google Pay app for US and United Kingdom users within the next few months.

Google's custom Nexus/Pixel dialer has added a few cool features over the years like local search and video call integration, but the interface hasn't changed in ages.

This is clearly just the first step for Google Pay, though, and it seems that the company has big plans for the service. Wallet is getting a temporary rebrand as Google Pay Send until the send and receive money feature can be added to the Google Pay core app. According to Google, Google Pay is not working with iPhones.
