Disney World finally gets around to opening Toy Story Land
Fans can join Woody, Buzz, Rex, Mr Potato Head and the whole cast (although, hopefully not Sid) at Disney's new Toy Story Land this summer, when the park opens in June. The Pixar-themed area includes a roller coaster called Slinky Dog Dash, which is made to look like it was assembled by Andy himself with his Mega Coaster Play Kit. The new Star Wars land will open as part of an update to Disney's Hollywood Studios. Orlando's installation will offer a different ride lineup than the other lands, however.
Riders will zip around and above Toy Story Land, serving up panoramic views of the land.
Toy Story Land will also feature Tinkertoy lampposts, Green Army Men and other toy-like design elements.
When guests enter Toy Story Land they will "shrink" down to the size of a toy so they can step into the whimsical and beloved world of PIXAR Animation Studios' blockbuster franchise set in Andy's backyard.
Using toys like building blocks, plastic buckets and shovels and game board pieces, Andy has designed the ideal setting for this land, which will include two new attractions for any Disney park and one expanded favorite.
Woody's Lunch Box will serve up tasty meals and old-fashioned soda floats from a walk-up window in a setting surrounded by Andy's favourite toys and a giant vintage thermos.
On the attraction guests step inside of Andy's room which is littered with classic toys and fun details to board an early-20th-century-inspired Carnival Ride Tram donning 3D glasses & armed with a spring-action shooter to take on five unique carnival games.
