More snow nixes flights at Chicago airports

Freezing drizzle tonight weekend wintry weather

Chicago, meanwhile, is expected to see snow Saturday and Sunday as the National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the area. More than one inch of rain is possible.

Angola is the only county seat in the four-county area with consistent weather data dating to the late 1800s and early 1900s that enables the National Weather Service to provide historical context. This is our main concern tonight, as bridges, overpasses and some roads will become icy.

Our computer forecast models show the snow showers will continue to move out of Montana the rest of Friday night and into Saturday morning.

Sunday morning is our best window for a wintry mix of precipitation until 12 p.m.

Accumulations of 1 to 3 inches is possible across central Kansas.

Snow across southern and central MI ranged from 7 inches on the western side of the state to more than 2 inches in the Detroit area. As the day wears on, a cold front will be slipping south.

Meanwhile, the snow won't end until sometime today, the National Weather Service Northern Indiana says on its website.

Widespread light snow continues in counties along and north of Interstate-80. We expect little or no snow accumulation. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 20.

Because of the possibility of strong north winds at 10 to 20 miles per hour, blowing and drifting snow will be possible causing hazardous conditions for motorists Saturday afternoon through early Sunday morning.

Three or more inches of snow fell in the Windy City overnight into Sunday, adding to the 10 inches that fell in the region on Friday.
