CHAN 2018 Morocco Beat Nigeria 4-0 In Final To Lift trophy

The Eagles beat Sudan 1-0 on Wednesday through a lone goal from Gabriel Okechukwu while Morocco beat Libya 3-1 after extra time in the semi-finals to book a final clash with the Eagles.

This CHAN final that was chaired by Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and attended by CAF President, Ahmad Ahmad, will obviously remain in the annals of Moroccan football as it revealed players with enormous talent, like Ayoub El Kaabi who was the top scorer with nine goals netted, including one in the final match.

CAF have already announced that they will look at the rules in time for the next CHAN, with a cut-off date after which a player could move without losing eligibility for the tournament one of the options.

El Karti made it 2-0 just past the hour, Hadraf completed his brace three minutes later and player-of-the-tournament El Kaabi completed the rout with 73 minutes gone.

Morocco scored opened the scoring in the 43rd minute of the game and after that came the 2nd 3rd and 4th goal that had no reply by the obviously outplayed Nigerians.

This was Morocco's first major continental title since winning the 1976 Africa Cup of Nations.

Only five minutes after the start of the second half Peter Enjei was issued a second yellow card, and got sent off; meaning that Nigeria would have to finish the final match with only 10 men on the field.

The sides were locked at 1-1 after 90 minutes in Marrakech. El Karti grabbed the second as he headed home Jbira's cross after El Kaabi had once again been denied by the woodwork.

In the second half, things went bad for the Super Eagles as debutant Eneji was given the marching order for a second caution after a reckless tackle on Mohammed Nahiri.

Nigeria defensive resolve against Morocco will make the match an interesting clash.

Meanwhile, Sudan overcame Libya on Saturday to take third place.
