Amazon Echo vs Apple HomePod vs Google Home: Which One Is Best?

The Echo Dot led the sales of "tens of millions" of Alexa-enabled devices worldwide, according to the company, which said Echo Dot, Echo Spot, and Echo Buttons sold out this holiday season.

Amazon didn't disclose the exact number of Alexa-enabled hardware sold, but said the Echo Dot and Fire TV stick were its best-selling products from any manufacturer over the holiday season. It's also worth noting that Fire TV Stick sales increased by more than 100% year over year.

The holiday shopping season is finally over and that means Amazon has some shopping data for us.

Over the course of one week, more than 4 million people became Prime members or started a free trail, sending the e-commerce giant's membership count to new highs, it said.

Since Day One we have obsessed over what we believe our customers care about - incredible deals and low prices, fast and free shipping, and a wide selection of top products - and we continue to provide all three, all the time.

This combined with the fact that Amazon is the largest retailer in the world, makes being blacklisted a negative impact on sales even for a company of Google's size.

It was a particularly good season for Amazon's devices.

Alexa customers used their device to turn on their holiday lights more than 1 million times. So far the company has focused on making moves to optimize those operations rather than cutting back its benefit.

Looking for an indicator that Amazon's Alexa is a beloved product?

"The more that Amazon cannot just get its Echo devices out there, but get its Alexa technology embedded in a variety of things, including cars, that'll be the long-term win", Mark Mahaney told CNBC's "Squawk Alley" on Tuesday. Apple has projected revenue of $84 billion to $87 billion in the holiday quarter, which would represent growth of as much as 11 percent from the period a year earlier.
