The owner of the dogs, Johnny Dale Lankford, 42, had been in a local detention center after being charged Friday with domestic violence and unlawful imprisonment. Johnny Saylor suffered injuries to his head and arm while fending the animals off. "They were both active within the community and just, like I said, two of the nicest people you would ever meet".
"The ambulance kept trying to get him to go to the hospital but he wouldn't leave until I took her into our care", said Steele. The Bell County Sherriff's Department responded to a dispatch call and found the injured couple. "She was just a sweetheart" said Steele.
