The next storm on the horizon will be Saturday but it looks like rain and not snow with a southern storm tracking west of CT, putting us on the warm side with highs in the 50s.
Tonight: Overnight, we'll have mostly clear skies.
It will be cool at first, with some grass frost possible in eastern and northeastern areas, but temperatures will rise steadily overnight with values of 9 to 12 Celsius by dawn.
From NBC5 meteorologist Brian James - Clouds will be with us as a partly to mostly cloudy sky continues across the area tonight. Some sunshine and winds gusting over 20 miles per hour will highlight a mild afternoon.
There is a chance of a spell of rain on Thursday across the southern half of the country, but amounts still look likely to be small and it will become mainly dry again later. Christmas Day will basically be cold. Right behind the front on Christmas Day, there is a slight chance for a few rain and snow showers. As temps fall into the 30s as we head into Christmas morning I can't rule out some light mixed precipitation or even light snow between Midnight and 3am for areas east of Chattanooga.
Ann Arbor could get another 7 inches of snow Wednesday
But the break will be short-lived, as another, more potent system pulls into the Great Lakes region overnight Monday into Tuesday. Areas affected will be generally south of Buffalo, as well as off the southern shore of Lake Ontario.
