Official: Android 8.0 Oreo Hitting HTC U11 From November 27
HMD Global has started updating their flagship Nokia 8 smartphone to Android 8.0 Oreo. The Taiwanese tech giant released the OS update in time for Cyber Monday. A company executive said the device is getting a "pure version" of Android Oreo with all its new features and performance updates. HTC did promise its release but we weren't sure when exactly the update would be ready.
With HTC's own Oreo build for the U11 now being ready for deployment, the company's wireless carrier partners are also already in the process of optimizing their own versions of the firmware and should begin distributing them in the coming months. While we didn't hear anything from HTC itself, we knew other markets would follow soon. These features include Picture-in-Picture mode, smart text selection, auto-fill, notification dots, new app folder design and more. The upcoming launch is understood to be gradual in nature, as is usually the case with over-the-air updates for contemporary smartphones. HTC has added the best-in-class cameras on the U11, and the phone also has the top-notch hardware.
