Players who purchase the expansion pass will receive new support items in December, followed by new quests in January.

All of the DLC mentioned in the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 season pass will be coming out in various intervals throughout the rest of this year and a significant portion of the next, with the new adventure DLC coming in Autumn of 2018.

Curiously, the various content drops will not be available individually, meaning that players will have to pay the full price upfront, even if they only want access to one of the expansions. For starters, a Japanese voiceover track will be available on launch day as a free DLC, if you prefer to play with the original voice acting. This DLC becomes available on Thursday, November 9.

The Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Nintendo Direct presentation has just concluded, and we got way more than we were hoping for. Rex, the main character, is a Driver while his companion Pyra is a Blade. This DLC contains a new quest, which, upon completion, will allow players to have Link wear the costume that Rex wears in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Other allies are designated as Support for each Driver, which come as either Tank, Attacker, or Healer, and help determine the Driver's class.

While traveling the massive world of Alrest, players will run into shining spots called Collection Points – which give players the opportunity to pick up valuable items or dive under the clouds to salvage hard-to-find treasures – or special landmarks that players can transport to at any time. They'll have more details on what the pass includes in the future.

And the good news for Nintendo Switch owners doesn't stop there. The big announcement was that the game would be getting a season pass, featuring everything from new modes along with main and side quests.

It will launch alongside a brand new Nintendo Switch Pro Controller and a Collector's Edition.
