One Indian security official was killed and three wounded in a gun fight that followed.

The latest attack comes amid a major counterinsurgency offensive by the Indian army in south Kashmir districts.

Terrorists attacked the camp in the wee hours of Tuesday.

#9:15 AM: Total three BSF jawans and a policeman were injured.

"The flights are continuing and one flight has just landed in the airport from Delhi", Khan said.

However, in a retaliation, at least one militant was killed.

In a weird incident, a BSF camp was attacked by a few terrorists near Srinagar Airport and the Airforce station early Tuesday morning. The particular battalion handles the security of runway at the airport.

Heavily armed militants stormed an Indian Border Security Force (BSF) camp early Tuesday in disputed Jammu and Kashmir's capital. "Firing is ongoing", BSF officials added.

"Six or seven Jaish militants are still at large", Inspector-General of Police (Kashmir) Muneer Khan said.

Piecing together the chain of events, PTI reported police as saying the militants entered the BSF's 182 battalion headquarters through a damaged perimeter wall and started firing in all directions.

The attack took place on the BSF 182 battalion camp which is near the Srinagar worldwide airport.

Following the attack, the movement towards airport was suspended and all morning flights were canceled after the militant attack took place at the BSF camp.

Today's fidayeen attack is the 2nd high profile attack on the highly fortified security installation within a month in Kashmir Valley.

The area also houses training centres of the BSF and the CRPF.

Besides state police, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and BSF also provide security at the airport and the Kashmir Frontier Office of the BSF lies close by.
