Jackie Hoffman might not have walked home with the Emmy on Sunday night, but she won our hearts. When Dern was announced as the victor, a curious thing happened: She passed right over Witherspoon. Now, it obviously is the case that Hoffman is playing things up, but some in the media took her comments seriously.

When Laura Dern's name was announced for supporting actress in a drama, Hoffman, nominated for her role as Mamacita, Joan Crawford's loyal maid in "Feud: Bette and Joan", was seen yelling "Damn it, damn it" and hitting the chair in front of her. She went on to tweet a couple of outlandish claims about the actress, including, "I hear that Laura Dern runs a child porn ring" - which many people thought crossed a line into poor taste. I feel very proud to be part of reflecting fierce women and mothers, finding their voice'.

Dern's parents are actors Diane Ladd and Bruce Dern.

You're always a victor to us, Jackie.

And then, for her final tweet in this fake Twitter tirade saga, Hoffman was forced to clarify she was not being serious, for those who had been confused.

While the other nominees were no doubt disappointed they did not win, Hoffman opted out of the traditional smile-and-clap when your colleague wins, and went right for open disdain.
