Pak violates ceasefire again, BSF jawan killed in Arnia

One jawan has been martyred in Pakistan firing at the Arnia sector in Jammu and Kashmir. One civilian is reported injured in the firing which took place in Arnia.

Pakistan has accused India of committing more than 700 ceasefire violations in the first nine months of this year which has resulted in the killing of 32 Pakistani civilians. A BSF man sustained bullet injuries in abdomen in the Pakistani troops firing. He is survived by his wife Sushmita Singh, according to the BSF spokesman.


An Indian border guard was killed Friday after Pakistani soldiers fired at several positions along the volatile border in disputed Kashmir, an Indian paramilitary officer said.

Authorities have kept emergency services in readiness to meet any eventuality due to the unprovoked ceasefire violation by Pakistan. "He was evacuated to hospital, where he was declared brought dead", they said.


Villages nearby the global border in Arnia sub-sector is panic stricken. "We will give them a befitting reply", Singh said.

There have been continuous ceasefire violations by the Pakistani troops for the past three days.


Constable Bijender Bahadur was on duty at forward point along the fence in Arnia sector along the IB when Pakistani Rangers resorted to mortar shelling and small arms fire at about 0020 hours today, said a BSF officer.
